Todays music: Backstreet Boys

Merry Christmas (really late) and HAPPY NEW YEAR! Hope everyone had a good time and didn't eat as much as I did! I gained about 15 pounds since Thanksgiving!

A lot has happened since the last time I posted around Thanksgiving. I finished the short (The Wishers) and even started editing it. I think its a good story and I will diligently search for a home for it. Hmm, maybe I'll check out 'Writer's of the Future' for it. Other than that, I haven't done too much writing wise.

A new year means new goals. My main goal for this year is not to write a lot, but to EDIT, EDIT, EDIT and SELL. This year Erin Glen I will be ready to send around to editors, probably finding a home (if it can) at some e-book publisher somewhere. I've very interested in what Vera is saying about Small Press as well. I'll follow her VeraWorld articles this year.

My second goal is to finish Silver Star. This novel has been being pushed back and unfinished far too long and it's time to get busy.

IF those two goals get completed then I have other novels to work on as well. I'd also, as mentioned above, would like to sell a short story or two, but my main empasis this year will be the novels and specifically, getting the one published.

I'm starting to feel that if I can't sell anything, what's the point in writing? I know there's a lot of point to it, I enjoy doing it and I want others to enjoy it. But the second half of that point is not being fulfilled and it's time to make a go of it. Sink or swim. Let's hope I at least keep myself afloat by selling a short story or two.

My last writing goal is to keep better stats. If you were to look at my Stats 2000 page, it would be incomplete. I didn't keep track of all my word counts last year. This year I hope to do better. Maybe this year the Acceptances number will go up (then again, maybe not, but hopefully).

Other goals for myself this year: LOSE WEIGHT! I'm buying myself a membership to a fitness club and James is joining with me. It's just been in the last few months that I've felt that my ankle is strong enough to start doing some heavy duty excercising and it's definately time. Especially after the holiday eating.

I also have some spiritual goals for myself, including daily Bible reading and daily Bible study. Also, consistant work on writing and less TV watching. My mom got Dish Network for herself while she's living with us and I got to the point where I would watch it ALL the time. No more.

With these new goals in mind, as well as my few hours of babysitting each week, I believe I have a full plate now (did I mention regular house cleaning too?) and plenty to keep busy.

I hope that everyone has a good year and reaches for whatever goals you may have set for yourselves! Happy 2001!
