  March 21, 2001:

I'm retro posting the 9ths entry. I don't know why I never posted it. Just lazy I guess.

Not much else going on here. Bad news. Our insurance needed 100 people to get it going again. Since they didn't have 100, they wrote insurance for individuals, which meant that they looked at pre-existing conditions and excluded those that they didn't want to cover. So, we are now considered uninsurable.

I'm angry, but I'm not all that concerned about it. We are selling our Geo Prism for $1000 and we'll probably put it all in savings to pay for doctors visits. Plus, James will probably work out a plan with his employers to put the money that they would have put into insurance into a savings account for our medical expenses. I think it will work out okay.

I talked to an aqaintance of ours who hired a midwife for their 5th child. They liked her so well, they plan to use her again the next go around. This woman is an RN and specially trained to do home births. She travels around the world to assist births and has assisted over 8 or 900 births! She even helped a woman to give birth to a baby that had a 3 pound growth on his/her chin! Anyway, I e-mailed her over a week ago and am so anxious to hear back from her. I've been told that she goes to stay with the mother-to-be for the last month before the due date, so it could be awhile before I hear back.

I've been trying to spend some time doing other things, or I'd go crazy sitting around thinking about Baby all the time and looking at baby websites like BabyCenter. So, I washed up what baby clothes I have, so they are ready. Since then I bought a couple of used outfits and out of the blue James' aunt sent us more of her old stuff, most of which was brand new. So, there's more to be washed. I'm going to wait until after a baby shower that I'm sure someone will throw for me (that sounds concieted!).

I've also been doing a lot of reading. I finished Holly Lisle's Book one of the Sacred Texts. As soon as we are in a decent bookstore, I'm going to see if I can get the next two in the trilogy(I think it's a trilogy anyway). I think I saw that the third one is out. I could order it on the 'net, but I'm holding out because it's a good excuse to go into a bookstore. It's been so long since I've been to Barnes and Nobel that I'm having withdrawls! I love just walking around and looking for some new thing to jump out at me.

I've even been doing some critiquing. I have one story I need to read and critique and I've already finished another crit (if you could call what I gave them an actual crit!).

That's about all that's been going on around here. I've recently been let go of my part time babysitting gig. The parents have a business and I guess it's not doing well, so they moved the office to the basement of their home. So, the mother is there to watch her children. She said she might still need me to take them off her hands and to the park every now and then when she's been driven crazy by them. So there goes the little bit of money for our entertainment purposes.

We are watching the budget very closely, not only because of Baby on the way, but because we had already planned a trip to Orlando this summer. I've decided I'll teach summer school (God help me!) this summer (that's about $1000!) so we can pay for the trip. We already have 3 nights at a condo (one of those gimmicks for you to buy timeshare) paid for and it comes with 2 2-day passes to Universal Studios. The only other thing I'd like to do is Sea World. I've been to Disney World twice (James once) and I've never been to Sea World. I told James we have to fit it in this time. And I don't mind going to the beach, but you won't catch me 4-5 months pregnant and in a bathing suit! I'd look like a beached whale! :)

It's been difficult keeping Baby secret. Today we went around checking on insurance and Medicaid (we make $200 too much!) and so now more people know and several more suspect since they saw us in the Medicaid office. I told James that we might as well tell my mom and his parents before they hear it from someone else. The whole towns gonna know before my mom does! :)

One weird thing about being pg. Ever since before I found out, I've had a twitch in my eyelid. I think it's caused by the pg. I read somewhere that one woman had the hiccups through her entire pg, except while sleeping. When the baby was born, her hiccups stopped and the baby had them! When this baby's born, I'll be looking at his/her right eyelid! :)

Oh, good news! I'm still losing weight. I lost another pound since last week so I'm down to an all time-low (since 6 months ago anyway!). I'm not really concerned. I've been eating like a little piggy anyway. I'm cutting back again, just to make sure that I'm not going to gain any. I'm eating a lot of fruit and veggies too, so I'm not eating a lot of bad stuff. Last week I let myself eat a lot of bad stuff, and I stayed hungry all the time. This week I'm eating better stuff and I'm not as hungry and eating less than last week, but I still feel like I'm eating a lot. Uh-well, there will be plenty of pounds put on later.

Hope ya'll have a good day!
