After Dillon leaves Erin Glen, he hits rock bottom. Unable to pay his gambling debts and feed his body's desire for alcohol, he takes a job working on the Trans-continental railroad. During this struggle, his eyes become opened to God's love for him and His plan for Dillon's life.

Ryan usually had his head together, that is until a new school teacher comes into the Fort Laramie area.
